Alegre was a mother and the daughter of Alpha.   In 2012 Alegre was in Traveler’s band. It was the year after the 2011 BLM helicopter roundup. Roundups done by helicopter are tragic to watch. Family units are broken up. There are injuries and sometimes deaths in the process.  After a roundup, there is great commotion when some mustangs are released back into the wild. Those who lost their families search to find new ones. Mustangs are herd animals. They come together for protection and comfort. Traveler was still a dominant stallion in Spring Creek Basin.  He had been rounded up mistakenly in the 2007 roundup and was later released back into his SCB home, thankfully due to David and Pati Temple’s efforts and perseverance.  Alegre, daughter of Alpha, now in 2012 was mother to Gaia, her first foal and Aurora was her fourth foal.  TJ told me Alegre’s third foal died before she saw it.  Later she had Maia.

Alegre also has a grandbaby named Cassidy Rain.  Traveler gained Alegre and Gaia in his herd after the 2011 roundup. Maia’s and Aurora’s sire is Bounce, another Spring Creek Basin stallion, who was a quiet, strong leader with a shiny black coat.  Bounce created good energy for the horses around him.
